Put your hand up if as a small biz owner, you’ve felt like a fraud…
😕That you’re not progressing fast enough.
😕That someone else knows more than you do.
🙁Makes a better product than you do.
😞Sounds and looks better than you do.
{raises hand with you}.
I wish I could say that it was uncommon, but I want to let you know that you are not alone.
I guarantee you as you scroll through your feed… those people you’re looking at? The ones you’re thinking “they are brilliant and well, I am nothing like them”…
…those people have more than likely had that little voice in their head telling them they are inadequate, too.
And while imposter syndrome can suck some days, {#understatement} remember that these feelings CAN be controlled.
😞If you feel like a fraud?
💛Write down all the things that have got you to where you are. The qualifications. The outcomes. The passion. The discoveries. The progression. The experience. And step out of your own shoes and ask yourself what someone completely neutral might thing reading that list of awesomeness {hint: they’d probably think you are made for that role}
😞Do you think you aren’t achieving enough?
💛Don’t look at where you were yesterday and expect to have transformed completely overnight. Look at where you were 6 months ago. How far have you come since then?
😞Do you scoll social media feeling like everyone else has their sh*t together but you don’t?
💛I say this with love but… get the heck offline. Fast. Take a walk. Clear your head. Grab a pen and paper and write down the things you have achieved. And visualise the things you WANT to achieve. Stay in your own lane. Focus on where you have been and where you are going. And the steps you need to talk to get there. Then walk ‘em.
Imposter syndrome is a sh*tty part of the small biz journey but I promise you can shift it out of the way and keep building your own incredible biz.
Love from a fellow biz owner who has imposter syndrome impose of their days, too 💛💛
